Injured Marsh replaced by Hughes

Shaun Marsh's calf injury has ruled him out of Australia's Test series in South Africa, with Phil Hughes called up as his replacement. The batsman suffered the injury in Sunday's one-day international victory over England and was left behind when the squad flew to South Africa on Wednesday as he sought to prove his fitness. Cricket Australia confirmed on Thursday that the left-hander had failed to overcome the problem. National selector John Inverarity said: "As Shaun Marsh's calf injury has not improved as much as required over the past four days he has been withdrawn from the Test squad for the tour of South Africa. "Phillip Hughes had been placed on standby and now comes into the Test Squad as a replacement for Shaun. "Phillip will head to South Africa as soon as possible.” Australia, fresh from a 5-0 Ashes triumph, face three Test matches against South Africa, with the first starting at Centurion on February 12.
