Massa prays for ´incredible´ Schumacher

Felipe Massa led the tributes to injured German Michael Schumacher at his annual all-star karting event in Brazil on Sunday. The seven-time world champion has been in an induced coma for nearly a fortnight after a skiing accident at the French resort of Meribel. Competitors paid homage to Schumacher, donning 'Stay Strong Schumi' messages on their helmets and karts with the yearly event having a particularly somber feel to it. Massa says he has prayed for Schumacher since he suffered the head injury and is confident he will make a full recovery. "He is an incredible friend and he's an incredible driver, so I'm really sorry for what's happened to him," Massa said. "I think if we can give a little bit of help pushing and praying that maybe he can recover. "He's an incredible man - very athletic - so I'm sure he can recover and we're praying everyday for him." Former Formula 1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi came out on top in the main karting race, beating Massa and Sebastien Buemi to top spot on the podium. Liuzzi expressed his personal pride at being able to take home a prize bearing the iconic Senna name. "I was really emotional when I saw it standing on the podium," Liuzzi said. "I think it is one of the most beautiful trophies I've ever had and it means a lot obviously because Ayrton (Senna) is a hero for every kid when they grow up, especially in this sport. "I will bring the trophy back home and handle it every day because it is a really wonderful prize."
