Seattle wide receiver Harvin ruled out of 49ers clash

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin has been ruled out of the NFC Championship game due to concussion. While Harvin will miss the NFL play-off encounter against the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle have received a boost with lineback KJ Wright set to return to action on Sunday, after a month out with a broken foot. Harvin suffered concussion just before half-time in Seattle's 23-15 win over the New Orleans Saints last week and the Seahawks' medical staff decided he is not ready to play. The 25-year-old has played just two games for the Seahawks this season, since joining from the Minnesota Vikings, and was devastated when he found out on Friday that he would not take on the 49ers. "It's super disappointing for Percy," coach Pete Carroll said. "He wants to play. You could see it. He played his tail off when he had his chance. Just unfortunate circumstances, you know. "But we have functioned the way we function because we don't let things like that get to us and disturb us, and how we're thinking, and how we're preparing and all that. We would love to have him but not this time." Wright will return into Carroll's defensive set-up having not played since he broke his foot against San Francisco on December 8.
