Serena: I still have a lot of work to do

Serena Williams hopes to draw level with Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova for most grand slam wins but says she has work to do. The American world number one is the favourite to win the Australian Open, which would see her join the two greats in equal fourth for most grand slam victories with 18. Joining the pair is a dream for Williams, who faces Australian teenager Ashleigh Barty in the opening round on Monday. "It would mean a lot to be on the same level as such great players as Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. I still have a lot of work to do," the 32-year-old American said. "I obviously want to be able to reach that level but I'm not there yet. Hopefully I'll get there." Williams was impressed by first-round opponent Barty after watching the 17-year-old play at the Brisbane International. "She's extremely talented. She moves well. She plays well. She serves well. She has good returns," Williams said. "I saw her play a little bit at Brisbane. I was actually super impressed with her game. I thought she was a really, really great player."
